Moonjoo Kim (*1998, Seoul) is a freelance dancer and performer based in Germany. She graduated with a B.A. in Dance Performance, specializing in Korean traditional dance, from Korea National University of Arts in 2020. Her fascination with the intricate details of traditional movement led her to pursue an M.A. in Movement Notation and Analysis at Folkwang University of the Arts, which she completed in 2024.

Deeply rooted in her understanding and love for Korean traditions, Kim brings unique textures and vibrant expressions to her artistic creations. Minimalism serves as a central inspiration in her work, embodied through delicate movements that invite imagination to flourish within simplicity.

Navigating the intersections of dance, movement notation, and drawing, Kim transforms her sensitive perception of the world into diverse artistic forms. Her work spans numerous productions and collaborative collectives, showcasing her ability to bridge traditional and contemporary art forms seamlessly.
